A Timepiece. A Masterpiece.

The Geochron continues to be a symbol of American-made engineering for more than 50 years, and now in the digital age.

Lighting Upgrades

Remote Controlled Dimmable LED Lighting System

For years, Geochron owners have asked if they could dim the lights – especially at night. Now you can, but we’ve taken it one step further with remote controlled dimmable LEDs that

  • Have infinite levels of lighting for your preference
  • Have longer lasting bulb life
  • Adjust or turn off the lighting within 100′ line of sight, or through a wall!
  • Turn the lights on your clock on or off remotely, with a gentle fade.

Compatibility with rebuilt clocks

Before 12/2016: Geochron’s dimmable LED lighting system runs on 12 volts, and are not compatible with pre-Dura Drive clocks, including those rebuilt before Decemberof 2016. All new clocks are compatible with dimmable LED clocks as an option (except Boardrooms, they have all the bells and whistles.

During a rebuild, all the electrical harnesses that run the clocks are replaced and converted to 12 volts. A standard rebuild replaces everything to make your clock like new again – including a new mapset and Dura Drive – but lighting upgrades are optional. With a new LED Lighting System, you can also add a remote controlled dimmable feature. To install dimmable LEDs with the remote, we need the entire clock.

Sunlit LED Analemma

For decades the tracked sun on our analemma was literally a shadow on the map, but when one of our customers asked if his could be glowing yellow like  – you know – The Sun, we asked, “Why didn’t we think of that?”

Standard on all Boardroom clocks, the Sunlit LED Analemma is an add-on for any other Geochron for $75.00, new or rebuilt. We’ve taken an extremely bright diode, and drilled it into the center of the Analemma’s Sun. It has to be bright, because it’s shining behind the diffuser panel and map. As you can see in the video above, the color of the sun changes slightly depending on where the map positioned above the Sunlit LED Analemma.

Below, you can see examples of the Sunlit LED Analemma on Ham, Geopolitical, and Topographical mapsets.
